Sheldon, Iowa — If you can’t wait for fresh local produce your wait is almost over.
The Sheldon Chamber Director Ashley Nordahl says the Sheldon Farmers’ Market will begin on Monday, June 5th, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. She says it will be in the Historic Union Depot, just off Old Highway 60. She says not much will change with the market.
Nordahl says the market will be every Monday, except July 3rd, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The last Monday of the Farmers’ Market will take place during the Labor Day Celebration at the city park. According to Nordahl, WIC will also be giving families who are in the program checks that can be spent only at the Farmers’ Market.
She also says if there are any low-income Senior Citizens who want checks to spend at the Farmers’ Market they can visit the SCDC office and apply to receive them.
Nordahl says if you have a license to sell and want to join the Farmers’ Market you can call the SCDC at (712) 324-2813.
