Sheldon Farmers Market Underway; Senior Nutrition Checks Available At SCDC Office

The Sheldon Farmers Market is underway for the summer of 2024. Sheldon Interim Chamber Director Shanelle Matus tells us about it.

She says if you are older and meet some income requirements, you can even get some help purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables.

Not every farmers market in Iowa is set up to accept the senior nutrition checks, but many of them are. Also, younger low-income women who are pregnant or have young children may be able to get help to buy produce through the WIC program. Contact your WIC representative for more information.

Again the Sheldon Farmers Market is every Monday evening from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. through Celebration Days in early September in the Union Depot on South 2nd Avenue, south of Dairy Dandy .
