Sheldon FFA Students Attend Soil Judging Clinic

ffaSheldon, Iowa — Ten members of the Sheldon FFA attended the Iowa Lakes Community College soil judging clinic in Emmetsburg, that was held recently.

While there they judged three pits and then went to three different informational pits where they learned how to judge.  The top four people from Sheldon: Kendra Roetman, Rebecca Beldt, Haley Wagenaar, and Marshall Kleinhesselink, then moved on to judge soil at districts in Sioux City.

They judged four pits while at districts, and then took a written test.  Rebecca Beldt scored the highest out of the four students that went, Marshall Kleinhesselink got second, Kendra Roetman got third and Haley Wagenaar got fourth.  As a team they got 10th out of 22.  Rebecca Beldt got 25th
overall.  The kids say they had an awesome and fun day that day and learned a great deal.
