Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon business that works with people and organizations nationwide is celebrating their 30th anniversary in business.
Nic Vust with Midwest Flying Service tells us about their business and how it got started.
Vust says that back-in-the-day, everyone referred to private jets as “Lear Jets,” even though “Lear” is a brand, and not all jets were Lear brand. He says they fly Cessna brand “Citation” jets.
Vust says when they started, they were a mostly passenger charter plane service. But times have changed.
He says their weeks vary in intensity, as some weeks they have all four jets out most days, and some weeks they only have three or four trips the entire week. He tells us they do some flying for the hospitals in Sioux Falls, but hospitals nationwide use their services, especially large hospitals with organ transplant centers.
He tells us how it works.
He tells us why they’re in Sheldon.
