Sheldon, Iowa — Over the past year the coronavirus has forced the postponement or cancellation of an untold number of events, including the Sheldon High School’s annual fall theatre production.
The Orab Theatre Department had planned to perform Ghost, the Musical this past November, but like so many other things, they had to postpone the production, thanks to the pandemic. Jodi Grant was scheduled to be the head director of the fall musical, and she says the department will be presenting a musical production this spring, but it will be a little different than the original plan for the fall musical.
(As above) “We have decided to do just a compilation of musical selections, which is basically some medleys from different musicals and possibly some single selections of musicals instead of just one full musical. The reason why we decided to do that is to still provide an opportunity for students who didn’t get the chance to do the fall musical, but given the time and the place and the calendar we’ve decided that we are just not going to be able to do a full-on big production like we would have done for the fall. We still want that opportunity for the students to do some musical theater, as well.”
Mrs. Grant says the Orab Theatre Department event has been scheduled for later this spring.
(As above) “The production will go up on Friday May 14th and Saturday May 15th. Both of those will be at 7:30 pm, and they will be in the high school auditorium, just like our regular musicals would be produced.”
Again, the dates for the Orab Theatre Department musical production are May 14th and 15th. We’ll bring you more information as those dates draw near.
