Sheldon High School To Hold Farm Safety Day

Sheldon, Iowa — The Agriculture Department of Sheldon High School will be holding a Farm Safety Day on Friday, September 23rd.

Jacob Fox, a Vocational Ag teacher at Sheldon High School, explains what Farm Safety Day is.

The second graders will learn how to be safe on the farm. Some of the high school students assist with this, which allows them to learn how to interact with younger children and also gives them a chance to share some of their own wisdom.

Sanford Sheldon has been collaborating with Sheldon High School on this for quite a while. The hope is that with the knowledge of farm safety there will be less accidents on farms and in general.

Fox says that Farm Safety begins in the home. Parents should ask their second grader what they learned after they return home from Farm Safety Day.
