music 1Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon High School Jazz Choir performed yesterday (Monday, February 20th) in the 2017 Morningside Vocal Jazz Festival, which was held at Eppley Auditorium in Sioux City.

Sheldon’s singers took to the stage at 9 am Monday, and ended the day with two of their singers, Olivia Lidiak and Madeline Gude, receiving Outstanding Soloist Awards, according to Sheldon High School Vocal Director Brett Gregory.  Gregory tells KIWA that his group got a lot of helpful feedback from their clinician, which he says should move them forward to improving their craft.

Gregory said he also learned Monday that the Sheldon High School Jazz Choir has been accepted to sing at the Iowa Vocal Jazz Festival Championships in West Des Moines on March 28th.
