Matlock Man Dies In South Dakota Motorcycle Crash

Hill City, South Dakota — A Matlock man has died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in the Black Hills of South Dakota on Friday.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling southeast on Old Hill City Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. Troopers say the bike went into the ditch where the driver, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the vehicle. He was transported to a Rapid City hospital where he later passed away.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the victim at this time, per South Dakota state law, but sources tell KIWA the victim was 58-year-old Mike Ney of Matlock.
