Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Middle School held their Family Fun Night recently.
The event was held at Sheldon Middle School on Thursday, March 13th. Teacher Jim Gude tells us the night was organized by Sheldon Middle School’s staff, and it was designed to bring parents and students together for an evening of food and fun activities.
He says Sheldon Middle School last hosted a similar event in March of 2023; East Elementary hosted the event in 2024. Originally, this evening was billed as “Family Literacy Night”, says Mr. Gude, and learning sessions were created to promote reading among middle school students and their families, after eating pizza in the commons Over time, other fun and entertaining activities were added–following a meal of burgers and chips–and the evening has evolved into the event it is now.
