Sheldon Police Officer Leaving To Become O’Brien County Deputy

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon police officer has submitted his resignation in order to accept a position with the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.

When the Sheldon City Council meets this coming Wednesday, February 5th, one of their agenda items will be the resignation of Officer Jett Korver. Korver has been a Sheldon officer for almost four years, beginning with the department in March, 2016.

Korver’s departure comes at a time when Sheldon is in the process of selecting a new Police Chief to succeed Lyle Bolkema, who retired in November after 30 years of service.

Korver’s last day in P.D. Blue will be February 27th. He goes to an O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office to fill out their roster of deputies, replacing Deputy Dean Fjeld who will be retiring soon after 30 years as an O’Brien County Deputy.
