Sheldon Police Seek Information On Suspected Arson Of Vacant Home

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Police officers are looking for the public’s help to try to find out exactly what happened to cause a fire in a vacant home last week.

According to the Sheldon Police Department, they are investigating what they’re calling “an arson incident” that resulted in damage to a vacant home located at 1302 South 5th Avenue in Sheldon. The fire was reported on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023 at about 4:15 p.m.

Authorities tell us there was no active electricity going to the vacant house.

The Sheldon Police Department is encouraging anyone who has information related to this crime to contact the Sheldon Police Department. The O’Brien County Crime Dusters program is offering a $500 reward to anyone who provides information on this crime that leads to the arrest and conviction of the offender or offenders.
