Sheldon School Board To Discuss Superintendent Search Process

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Community School District Board of Education will meet in special session on Monday, October 30th at 5 p.m. in the high school library.

Superintendent Robin Spears tendered his resignation during the Monday, October 9th school board meeting. Spears will retire on June 30th, 2018 after having been the superintendent at Sheldon for the last 21 years.

As a result, the board will need to hire a new superintendent to take over for Spears. Monday night’s board meeting will set that process in motion. Board members will discuss the search process and determine and select the details of the process.

In other business, the school board will review board goals set in February in the areas of instruction and student learning and achievement, facilities, and finances. They will also discuss the district’s school board member code of ethics.
