Sheldon, Iowa — With schools closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, students and teachers have missed seeing one another on a daily basis.
Teachers of the Sheldon Community School District will be driving through Sheldon’s neighborhoods Monday evening (March 30th), to greet their students while still maintaining social distancing from one another.
According to a post on social media, there will be a Sheldon Teacher Parade beginning at 6:30 Monday evening. Teachers will be driving through your neighborhood to spreading love and cheer by honking and waving at their students from a safe distance. The teachers ask students to not come outside and gather, but to practice social distancing. Teachers say they’ll make their way through the in-town neighborhoods. If you live outside of town, you’re encouraged to come park along the route and watch the parade from your car.
Teachers say they’d love to see the kids wave from the windows, front door or porch, but they ask that you do not leave your yard. Please stay at your home and do not gather.
The teachers say they can’t wait to see you on Monday!
