Sheldon United Fund Could Use Some More Help

Sheldon, Iowa — Progress has been made toward getting giving up-to-date with the pace for the Sheldon United Fund, but more help is needed.

The drive continues through the rest of the year. The goal this year is $31,000.

The fund drive is now 85% finished. The funds are at about 78% of goal, at $24,036. Nearly $7000 has yet to be raised in two weeks. To finish on goal, the drive now needs to average about $3480 per week through the rest of the year. In the last week, donors gave $3876.

Contributions to any or all of the organizations served by the Sheldon United Fund may be left at any of the four Sheldon banks, or you can also send them to PO Box 41, Sheldon, IA 51201. Explanations of the organizations are also available at the banks.

Each week we’re mentioning a few of the organizations that can benefit from your donations. This time the list includes:

·Sanford Sheldon Home Health & Hospice
·Sheldon Recreational Trails
·Sheldon Youth Activities – Scholarships
·Special Olympics, Iowa
·Upper Des Moines Opportunity
·Village Northwest (for therapy equipment)

The United Fund will be assisting 21 different organizations in Sheldon and the surrounding communities this year, and the board members thank the businesses and individuals of Sheldon and the surrounding communities for their continued support.
