Sheldon, Iowa — Donations to the 2020 Sheldon United Fund campaign dropped a bit last week, as residents plan and prepare for this week’s Thanksgiving holiday.
United Fund officials say $785 was donated last week, bringing the total amount donated through seven weeks of the thirteen-week campaign, to $12,294. That is some $17,706 shy of the 2020 Sheldon United Fund goal of $30,000. To achieve that goal, an average of $2951 per week needs to be donated before the campaign ends at the end of December.
This year’s Sheldon United Fund drive will benefit twenty-five non-profits in Sheldon and surrounding communities, including:
The Sheldon Ministerial Association, whose council serves the Archer/Sheldon area. The council provides traveling assistance for transients and supports community events that share Christ’s love through acts of service.
Sheldon Prairie Museum serves Sheldon and the surrounding area. The museum collects and preserves local history to promote good community life. The money will be used to maintain their building fixtures.
Sheldon United Fund donations can be dropped off at Citizen’s State Bank, Iowa State Bank, Northwestern Bank, or Peoples Bank, all in Sheldon. Or you may mail your contribution to P.O. Box 41, Sheldon, Iowa 51201.
Sheldon United Fund Board members thank the businesses and individuals in Sheldon and the surrounding area for their support.
