Sheldon’s Police Dog Takes Fourth Place At Police Dog Nationals

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon police dog continues to make Sheldon officers and residents proud.

Sergeant Eric Meineke is Balin’s handler, and he says not only did Balin do well around here, but he did well at nationals as well. He tells us about it.


He tells us what happened there.


Meineke says it was no small feat.

We asked Meineke how Balin felt about it.


Balin is Sheldon’s first police dog. He joined the Sheldon Police Department in July of 2021.
