Sioux Center Habitat For Humanity Site Hosts “Stud Finder Family Fun Night”

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center family will be getting their own home soon, thanks to Habitat For Humanity and its donors, and a special event was held at the home on Tuesday night.

Called a “Stud Finder Family Fun Night,” the event was a get-together to bless the family and the home. Organizers with Siouxland Habitat For Humanity tell us the idea is that people and organizations can help the local family build a safe and reliable place to call home by sponsoring one of the studs of the home. Sponsors can write a message of support on the stud, offering hope, encouragement, or inspiration to the family. They can also decorate it. Some sponsors include favorite bible verses, business logos, and more. Sponsors could sponsor one stud for $100.

A meal was served and there were also kids’ activities.

Ground was broken on the Sioux Center home in April, and the Nancy Martinez family hopes to move in between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Another Siouxland Habitat For Humanity home was dedicated in Hospers in June.
