Orange City, Iowa — Sioux County authorities have made an arrest in the case of the vandalism of a two-sided pro-life sign near Orange City.
Early Thursday afternoon, Sioux County authorities say they arrested 21-year old Ariel Valdes, of Orange City, on a charge of 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief, which is an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
Deputies say the arrest stemmed from an investigation, which began on Tuesday, after receiving a report of vandalism to that privately-owned sign. According to authorities, their investigation showed that Valdes allegedly intentionally defaced both sides of the sign by using black spray paint.
Authorities say the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office received numerous pieces of information from the public, which assisted Valdes’ apprehension.

Orange City, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a case of vandalism to a sign located west of Orange City.
Tuesday morning, June 5th, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office received the report of vandalism that occurred to a private sign in a farm field along Highway 10, two miles west of Orange City.
Deputies say during their investigation, they discovered that someone had defaced the double-sided pro-life sign by spraying black paint on it. Authorities say the crime occurred sometime between Saturday, June 2nd, and Tuesday, June 5th.
