Sioux County, Iowa — The Sioux County Community Foundation has announced their grant recipients for 2019.
Fifteen Sioux County projects and programs claimed more than $108-thousand in grants recently. That brings the total grants awarded to over $1.2-million since the first grants were made in 2006.
The latest rounds of Sioux County Community Foundation grants ranged from $2500 to the City of Orange City for an Automatic Electronic Defibrillator, to $10,000 grants to the City of Hawarden for a parks and playground upgrade, the City of Hull for the Hubbing Park Restrooms, Hunger Free Kids of Sioux County for the Sioux County Sack Pack Program, and Rock Valley Recreation for shade coverings for the Sports Complex.
Formally established in 2005 through affiliation with the Siouxland Community Foundation, the SCCF is governed by a local twelve-member advisory board composed of representatives from each of the communities in Sioux County: Alton, Boyden, Granville, Hawarden, Hospers, Hull, Ireton, Matlock, Maurice, Orange City, Rock Valley, and Sioux Center. The mission of the SCCF is to encourage and provide opportunities for charitable giving, to manage and distribute funds in a responsible manner, and to enhance the quality of life for the people of Sioux County.
