Sioux County, Iowa — So, Christmas is over, but your kids are at home. They’ve played with all their new toys, and now you hear, “Mom, I’m bored!”
Well, the Sioux County Conservation folks have some ideas for you. Emily Ostrander is a naturalist, and she tells us about them.
If you’re scratching your head and saying, “Wait, I thought Emily Ostrander worked for Lyon County Conservation,” you’re right, she did. She took the position in Sioux County this past summer.
She tells us that once the kids go back to school, there will still be activities in Sioux County.
Then, they have an experience with owls for you.
The next day — February 7th — you can learn how to make a pine needle basket. There are activities for all ages, including seniors. For more information, you can check their website.
Ostrander made her comments on the KIWA Talk of the Town Program, which can be heard on weekday mornings at 8:30 on KIWA-FM 105.3. We also post a podcast of every Talk of the Town Program, and you can find those by clicking here.
