Sioux County Emergency Management officials tell us they are proud to announce the launch of their new, dedicated Facebook page. They tell us the new platform is designed to enhance the agency’s ability to communicate vital information to the public before, during, and after emergencies.
The decision to establish a separate presence from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Facebook account was made to better serve residents with timely and targeted emergency management updates. Ryan De Kruyf, Sioux County Emergency Management Coordinator says that while the Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management work closely together, their missions and messaging needs are a bit different. He says that having a dedicated Facebook page allows EMA to directly share updates about severe weather, disaster preparedness, public safety alerts, shelter information, recovery efforts, and more—without it getting lost among day-to-day law enforcement updates.
The new page will serve as a go-to resource for:
•Severe weather alerts and preparedness tips
•Community emergency response training opportunities
•Updates during natural disasters, large-scale incidents, and recovery efforts
Residents are encouraged to follow and share the page with friends, family, and neighbors to stay informed and connected during emergencies. Follow Sioux County Emergency Management by clicking here.
De Kruyf says the move reflects Sioux County’s ongoing commitment to transparency, preparedness, and effective communication.
