Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Advising People To Lock Up Their Stuff

Orange City, Iowa — One area law enforcement office is alerting people to keep their stuff locked up.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is reminding everyone to secure outbuildings and vehicles when not using them.

Over the past few weeks, the sheriff’s office tells us their deputies have investigated multiple reports of vehicle/out building burglaries and thefts. These burglaries have happened in the south, southwest, and rural Rock Valley areas of the county. They tell us neighboring counties have had several similar burglaries where the suspects entered hog confinements.

They ask people to please keep items secured and report suspicious activity when you see it. If you have cameras, even if you haven’t noticed criminal activity, they’d like you to check them periodically to see if you notice anything unusual. If you believe you have been a victim of crime in Sioux County, you’re asked to call 712-737-3307.
