Sioux Center, Iowa — The Sioux County Youth Fair is underway just north of Sioux Center. And the major thing this year is it’s the first year for the new fairgrounds that used to be the Sioux Center airport, near Carmel.
Fair Board President LeAnn Englin tells us more.
She says they’re not doing a tractor pull or races this year, but they will have a demolition derby.
Englin says the fair has a lot to offer.
She tells us some of the other things going on at the Sioux County Youth Fair this week.
Englin says they know this summer has been a tough one, and they invite everyone from Lyon County down to their fair, since the Lyon County Fair will be very limited this year due to extensive flood damage at the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
The Sioux County Youth Fair runs through Thursday with a few events on Friday as well. Again, it’s not in eastern Sioux Center anymore — it’s at the former airport near Carmel. Head to siouxcountyfair.org/schedule for the full schedule of events.
