Maurice, Iowa – If you’re the person who drove through a rural Maurice Cornfield Sunday morning, the Sioux County Sheriff would like to have a little chat.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 11:20 Sunday morning, a silver vehicle was traveling southbound on Harrison Avenue, a mile north of Maurice, when it left the roadway, entered the east ditch and proceeded into a cornfield. Deputies say that vehicle then backed out of the field to the ditch, before re-entering the cornfield and driving through several hundred feet of standing corn before leaving the area.
If you have any information about the incident, or if you were the driver of the vehicle, you’re asked to call the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office at 712-737-3307.
