Sixty-Six New COVID Cases In Four-County Area Saturday

Northwest Iowa — Sixty-Six new cases of COVID-19 were reported Saturday in the far northwestern most counties in Iowa, but no additional deaths were reported by the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Thirty-seven northwest Iowans have died in connection with COVID-19 since the pandemic began — Sixteen in Sioux County, fourteen in O’Brien County, and seven in Lyon County.

Saturday’s report from the IDPH shows Sioux County with a total of 2,393 cases since the pandemic started, after a rise of thirty-three cases in the last 24 hours. O’Brien County is at 633, which is up sixteen cases. Lyon County was up ten cases at 541, and Osceola County was up seven at 271.

As far as active cases in the four county area, Lyon County has 201, Sioux County has 699, O’Brien County has 232, and Osceola has 95.

Out of the 541 Lyon County residents who have had COVID-19, 33 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 62%.
Out of the 2,393 Sioux County residents who have had COVID-19, 1,678 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 70%.
Out of the 633 O’Brien County residents who have had COVID-19, 387 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 61%.
Out of the 271 Osceola County residents who have had COVID-19, 176 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 65%.
