Snyder To Take Oath At Wednesday’s Council Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session Wednesday afternoon, and will begin with the Oath of Office being taken by Sheldon’s newest Councilman.

Last week Ken Snyder won a three-way election to fill the unexpired term of former 2nd Ward Councilman Shawn Broesder, which runs through the end of this year. Snyder will take the Oath of Office at the beginning of Wednesday’s meeting, then take his place on the Council for the remainder of the meeting’s agenda.

As part of the Council’s consent agenda, a list of items that are decided with a single vote, they’re expected to approve cigarette permit renewals for several Sheldon retailers, confirm the Mayor’s reappointments of Dave Vande Brake to the Board of Adjustment and Cindy Runger to the Museum Board of Trustees, as well as a resolution to add items to the June 29th special meeting.

In other action, the Council is expected to approve a resolution for plans and specifications for Crossroads North, Phase II, set a date for the opening of bids for the project and set a public hearing and contract awarding for the project, among other agenda items.
