Spencer Police, HEAT, Execute Multiple Search Warrants In Armed Robbery Investigation

Spencer, Iowa – The Spencer Police Department, with assistance from the HEAT (High Risk Entry and Arrest Team), on Friday executed simultaneous search warrants in connection with an armed robbery investigation.

Authorities say the searches were conducted around 8:30 am at 511 East 19th Street apartment 11 and 902 13th Street Southwest apartment 17 in Spencer. Police say the searches were part of an investigation into an armed robbery that took place back on February 27th of this year in the 600 block of East 19th Street in Spencer. The victim reported to police that a male suspect had held him at gunpoint while he was parked in a motor vehicle and assaulted him before taking an undetermined amount of money.

As a result of the search warrants, 22-year-old Darrious Green of Spencer was arrested and charged with robbery in the 1st degree…a class “B” felony; interference with official acts causing bodily injury, possession of marijuana…1st offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Green was booked into the Clay county jail on a $26,000 bond.

Also arrested was 20-year-old Taron Green of Spencer. He was charged with interference with official acts, possession of marijuana…1st offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Green was also booked into the Clay county jail on a bond of $1,000.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted in the investigation.
