Spencer, Iowa — Spencer police are issuing a warning about a new scam.
Officers say they’ve been getting reports from people getting a phone call indicating it’s from a pharmacy. The caller asks the person on the other end of the line to renew a Medicare card and asks the recipient for his or her Social Security number and other personal information.
Police urge people not to fall victim to the scam and to never give personal information over the phone.
