State Senator Exploring Bid For Congress

Aureilia, Iowa — Republican District 3 State Senator Lynn Evans has announced that he may run for Congress.

In a statement released Saturday, Evans says that after thoughtful prayer, conversations with his family, and encouragement from supporters across the district, he’s excited to share that he is officially launching an exploratory committee to consider a run for Congress in Iowa’s Fourth District.

Incumbent Fourth District Congressman Randy Feenstra of Hull says that he’s running for Governor of Iowa. He filed papers this past Monday and officially announced his candidacy on Tuesday.

Evans says that as a lifelong Iowan, an educator, and now a State Senator, he’s dedicated his life to serving the people of this great state. He says that in the Iowa Senate, he’s worked hard to protect rural values, defend our freedoms, and bring common-sense leadership to tough issues like education, tax relief, and government overreach.

He says he is trying to determine the best path forward.

Senator Evans currently represents Buena Vista, Osceola, and O’Brien counties, and parts of Cherokee and Clay counties in the State Senate.
