Storm Lake Principal Abruptly Resigns

Storm Lake, Iowa — A northwest Iowa high school principal has resigned, but it’s unclear why.

The Storm Lake Community School District has accepted the resignation of Beau Ruleaux as principal of Storm Lake High School. District superintendent Stacey Cole says the resignation is effective immediately following an investigation that revealed a violation of the policies of the Storm Lake Community School District. Because this is a confidential personnel issue, the district cannot release any further information at this time. However, Cole says they want to assure families and community members that at no time was student safety compromised as a result of the violation.

The Storm Lake school district will soon begin the process of finding their next high school principal. In the meantime, Superintendent Cole will serve as acting principal. He says the district will continue to take the necessary steps to avoid any disruption to the learning process as this transition takes place.
