Storm Lake Student to Represent Iowa at a National Competition in April

Storm Lake, Iowa – A Storm Lake High School student is among 25 Iowa high school students that will represent the state in a national competition next month.

The national competition, the National Career Development Conference, will be held in Indianapolis April 24th through the 26th. Storm Lake will be represented by a student identified as Daniel H.

Daniel was among more than 400 high school students and nearly 60 employers across Iowa who participated in the annual Iowa Career Development Conference that was hosted by Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates in Ames on March 5th. First-place winners from all eight student competition categories advanced to the national event. Daniel earned 1st place in the Financial Literacy competition at CDC.

The competition provides a series of test quotations that challenges competencies and concepts related to finance, money, and budgeting. Students will network with national employers, attend skill-development workshops, and participate in leadership activities.
