Sheldon, Iowa — The City of Sheldon is once again talking about housing in the community, including the number of building lots available.
Sheldon Development Director Curt Strouth says the lots in the Sheldon Crossing area have been selling well, but there are still lots available, along with some rebates that are available to folks who buy one of those lots.
Strouth says larger rebates are available to current Sheldon residents who wish to build a new home in the Sheldon Crossing area.
He says home sales in Sheldon have been strong over the past several months, especially sales of mid-priced homes.
Strouth says the next step is to conduct a Housing Survey to determine what types of homes are needed in the community.
Strouth pointed out that quality of life amenities are important because they build rooftops. He says oftentimes when a family is deciding where they want to live when relocating to the area, the amenities and quality of life can tip the scale towards one community over another.
