Summer Festivals Continue This Weekend With Doon Days

Doon, Iowa – Doon Days for 2025 will start this weekend in Doon.

Starting Friday evening, July 18th, with outdoor movie night at the softball diamond. The movie is “Cars” and it will start at 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, July 19th, is the Poker Run. It starts at 1:00 p.m. and registration is at Burns Grill (Formerly known as Doon Steakhouse).

Sunday, July 20th, is the Community Worship Service, starting at 10:30 a.m. at Doon Park. Refreshments will be provided after the service.

Doon Days continues Friday, July 25th, with a community picnic from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the city park. Ice cream will also be sold at the Doon City sign by the Doon United Reformed Church Christian Education Committee starting at 6:00 p.m. along with a pie acution starting at 6:00 p.m. in the city park.

Firetruck rides begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 25th, with pickup and drop-off at the softball diamond. There will also be a slow pitch softball game happeing at the ball diamond, starting at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks will start at dusk with Karaoke staring at 9:00 p.m. at Burns’ Grill.

Saturday, July 26th, will have the pancake breakfast at the fire station from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m to help benefit Doon Rescue. The vendor fair and flea market starts at 9:00 a.m. and runs to 1:00 p.m. with the parade starting at 11:00 a.m.

Events continue Saturday, July 26th, with lunch in the park at noon hour provided by ATLAS of Lyon County with Ice Cream also being sold at the Doon City Sign by the Doon United Reformed Church Christian Education Committee. The Golf Ball Dash also begins at 1:00 p.m. as well as the Pie Social from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Inflatables for the kids from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the pedal pull by the library, starting at 1:30 p.m.

New this year is the Dodgeball Tournament, starting at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26th, Registration starts at 3:00 p.m. and the tournament will start after the water fights on main street. The Dodgeball Tournament is for ages 12-and-over.

Food Trucks will be in the City Park, starting at 5:30 p.m. and will be in the park until 7:30 p.m. Doon Days will come to an end with the Street Dance by Burns’ Grill at 9:00 p.m.
