Superintendent Talks About 1st Day Of Classes

Sheldon, Iowa — With classes starting for the new school year Thursday, social media was filled with “first day of the new school year” photos that moms posted of their children.

Thursday was also the first day of classes for Sheldon’s “new kid”, Superintendent Cory Myer. We asked him if his wife had posted a “first day of school” picture of him on social media.

Myer described the first day of school as “controlled chaos.”

Myer says his staff is a “well oiled machine.”

Myer says he inherited a great staff when stepping into the Sheldon Superintendent’s position.

Since he took over the position last month, Myer had been working in relatively quiet surroundings, but that all changed Thursday.

Cory Myer came to Sheldon from Buffalo Center earlier this summer, taking over the Superintendent position July 1st, upon the retirement of former Superintendent Robin Spears.
