Sutherland, Iowa — A Labor Day Weekend tradition will take place this weekend. The Sutherland Labor Day Celebration will be held Saturday through Monday in Sutherland.
Everything kicks off Saturday with a 5K Run/Walk, Bag Tournament, Free Swim An Evening Meal featuring free entertainment by the Larry DeLawder Family, and two dances, one featuring the Dane Louis Band and the other featuring DJ Razzle Dazzle.
Activities Sunday include the 10:00 am Church Worship Service in the Sutherland City Park with Larry DeLawder, a Salute Tractor Ride, Cruise-In Car Show and Shine, Car, Truck and Motorcycle Burn-Out, Car & Bike Cruise and Fun Run, a Pork Loin Supper and a Street Dance with the Dillon Gaige Band.
Labor Day Monday starts bright and early with a Sausage and Pancake Breakfast, which will be held at the Church of Christ as a fundraiser for Noah’s Ark Daycare. Other activities include a Craft Fair, kid’s activities in the City Park, Volleyball and Bean Bag Tournaments, Entertainment in the park, Saddle Club Fun Day & Horse Show and Kid’s Races for all ages.
The biggest event on Monday will be Sutherland’s Labor Day Parade. Line-up of entries begins at 9:00 Monday morning, with the Parade kicking off at 10:30.
