Sutherland, Iowa — The former MercyOne Sutherland Family Medicine Clinic in Sutherland has been acquired by Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
The acquisition went into effect this past Saturday. Cherokee Regional Medical Center officials also tell us that Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Brooke Fiddelke has joined its medical staff and will continue seeing patients at the new Sutherland Medical Clinic. Former MercyOne clinic patients are invited to transfer their care to Cherokee Regional’s new Sutherland Medical Clinic.
The Sutherland Medical Clinic, provided by Cherokee Regional, opened Monday. The clinic joins Cherokee Medical Clinic, Holstein Medical Clinic, Aurelia Medical Clinic, and Marcus Medical Clinic as Cherokee Regional’s fifth rural healthcare clinic. Office hours will vary in the immediate future due to the timing of insurance and provider contracts during the transition period.
Cherokee Regional Medical Center will be hosting a town hall event for those wanting more information about the clinic transition process and how to access health care services. The town hall will be held at the R.L. Johannsen Center in Sutherland on Thursday, October 17th starting at 6:30pm. The public is invited to attend.
