Sheldon, Iowa — An Ashton teen was taken to the hospital after an accident near Sheldon.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 9:30 AM on Friday, March 27, 2015, 18-year-old Damond Peters of Ashton was driving a Chevy southbound on Oakhill Avenue, a mile and a half east of Highway 60 on 18, and three miles north.
The report says that Peters became distracted and started crossing the centerline. It says he over-corrected, causing the vehicle to go into a skid. The deputy says the car entered the west ditch where it impacted the ditch thus causing it to spin around and flip onto the roof.
SCAT took Peters to Sanford Sheldon hospital.
Peters’ Chevy sustained $2000 in damages, which totaled the car.
