Tornado Damage Reported South Of Sibley From Friday’s Severe Weather

Sibley, Iowa — Friday afternoon’s severe weather apparently spawned a tornado south of Sibley.

According to the National Weather Service, Osceola County Emergency Manager Dan Bechler told them that there is tornado damage to an outbuilding at a farm as well as damage to a couple of trees.

He says drone video footage shows the tornado path through a crop field leading to the farmstead. We are told it happened about 3:40 p.m. at a farm three miles south-southwest of Sibley, near the Sibley airport. The farmplace is between Highway 60 and L36, just west of the airport’s runway.

Bechler says there was also some tree damage in Sibley.
