Trooper: Parents Should Take Active Role In Teen Driver Safety

Northwest Iowa — This is National Teen Driver Safety Week.

Trooper Kevin Krull with the Iowa State Patrol tells us about it.

Krull says learning about driving is a never-ending process and doesn’t end when your driver’s license is issued.

And he says parents have to play an active role in teaching their teens about driving, both before and after permits and licenses are issued.

He says not only are teen drivers inexperienced, they also are more susceptible to other issues at that age.

Krull encourages parents to play an active role in monitoring their teen’s driving habits and intervening before they become deadly.
