Sheldon, Iowa — Iowa State Troopers will be out in force this Labor Day holiday weekend, to enforce the state’s traffic laws, and help make sure the state’s travelers have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Vince Kurtz says that declining gasoline prices are expected contribute to putting even more people on the road this weekend.
Trooper Kurtz says there are a number of things you can do this holiday weekend to help keep yourself and your family safe on the road.
He says you should enjoy your celebration, but make sure you have a sober driver.
Kurtz says excessive speed is also a factor in many of the crashes he sees.
Kurtz says troopers will be out in force on Iowa roadways this weekend to not only enforce the traffic laws, but to assist motorists who need help. He reminds us that a trooper’s primary job is to keep people safe on Iowa’s roadways.
