Orange City, Iowa — Tulip Festival 2016 starts this Wednesday evening, May 18th, in Orange City.
Wednesday night’s activities include Ride Night — the only time during Tulip Festival where you can get a wristband and ride the carnival rides as many times as you want; the Tulip Festival Car Show; the first performance of this year’s Tulip Festival Night Show, West Side Story, and an Onstage Orange City free concert in Windmill Park featuring “The Usual Suspects” from Orange City. Tulip Festival and Community Tourism Director Juliana Pennings says a free concert is actually planned for every night of the festival.
Pennings tells us that one of the things you are sure to see in Orange City during Tulip Festival is not on any list of activities. That’s the community’s Dutch hospitality.
She says the community really comes together to help pull off the festival every year.
