Two Blood Donation Opportunities Coming Up Late This Month In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — There are a couple of blood drives coming up in Sheldon later this month.

We talked with Community Bloodbank Executive Director Ken Versteeg, and he tells us that the need for blood right now — and during this time of year — is real.

He goes on to say that people are more active in the summertime, and that, in and of itself, means more accidents and injuries. He says there is always a high need for a certain type of blood.

But Versteeg says all blood is needed, and he asks everyone to support people of their own blood type by donating blood when you can.

Versteeg tells us that the bloodmobile will be coming to Sheldon soon.

He says almost all donated blood gets used.
