Two Hospers Firefighters Injured During Training Exercise

Hospers, Iowa — The City of Hospers is asking the community to keep its volunteer Fire and EMS members in their thoughts and prayers after two firefighters were injured during a training exercise Monday night.

City officials shared the update in a public statement, expressing gratitude for the dedication of local first responders who routinely step away from their families to serve their neighbors in moments of crisis.

“We are all so thankful for these men and women from our town and all area volunteer Fire & EMS departments,” the city wrote. “Every time their pagers go off, they leave their families and loved ones to go and try to save someone else’s life or home.”

As Thanksgiving approaches, officials are encouraging residents to pray for the firefighters’ physical and mental recovery and to reflect on the sacrifices made by local emergency responders throughout the year.

No additional details about the firefighters’ conditions were immediately released.
