Two Sheldon HS Speech Groups Going To All-State

Spencer, Iowa — Two of Sheldon High School’s eleven groups that went to the State Speech Contest in Spencer on Saturday have been selected to go to All-State.

Speech coach Lissa Lane-Johnson tells us the musical theatre group doing songs from Godspell and the choral reading group doing “Triangle” received at least two nominations for All-State from their panels of three judges. She tells us a little bit about the pieces that the groups performed.

She tells us who participated in the groups.

The 2022 Iowa All-State Festival For Large Group Events is at the Iowa State Center at Iowa State University in Ames on Saturday, April 19th. Next on the speech schedule is Individual Speech. Lane-Johnson says that rehearsals are underway, and the contests start with the district contest on February 26th.
