U of O Winter Games Lead To Numerous Arrests

Okoboji, Iowa — The University of Okoboji’s annual Winter Games were held last weekend, with many law enforcement personnel on hand to make sure the thousands who attend the games remained safe.

Iowa State Patrol Trooper Kevin Krull says the Patrol partnered with the DNR, as well as local and county officials to work the games, and he reports a fair number of alcohol-related arrests that took place.

In addition, Trooper Krull says there were non-alcohol-related arrests, as well, including one pursuit.

Looking ahead to this weekend, Krull offered some good advice for Sunday’s football celebrations.

Law enforcement will be out Sunday night looking for impaired drivers, speeders and reckless drivers, in an attempt to make our streets and highways safe.
