Sheldon, Iowa — Village Northwest Unlimited has received the honor of being named Top Workplace in the Des Moines Register‘s Top Workplace list for 2022.
VNU is a nonprofit organization that is located in Sheldon. It provides services for adults with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and autism spectrum disorders.
Employees were given a 24-question survey about such things as the execution of their mission and connection with staff. Employees gave feedback that resulted in VNU being named Top Workplace for 2022. VNU also received this honor in 2013 and 2014.
Barry Whitsell, President and CEO of VNU, says that they want to make VNU a workplace where their employees have a voice and are heard. Whitsell says they are constantly looking for ways to show their employees they are appreciated for all the valuable work they do.
Brian Robyn, Director of Human Resources, says this honor says that VNU staff considers them a quality employer, where people can make connections, grow in their community and find their calling.
