Additional thunderstorms are expected to develop through today and into tonight. Isolated to scattered severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening. The threat of severe weather appears greater from northern Nebraska, into northern Iowa and far southeast portions of South Dakota and Minnesota, where storms may be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds, as well as isolated tornadoes. Areas of heavy rainfall through tonight could also lead to localized flooding, especially in areas which received heavy rain early this morning.
In addition to the threat of severe weather late today, thunderstorms will bring a potential for locally heavy rainfall tonight. Due to the high amounts of water in the atmosphere, and additional rain affecting areas which may have received heavy rain early Sunday morning, localized street flooding and rises on area streams and rivers is possible.
