Orange City, Iowa — After Wednesday morning’s dense fog in the area, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind all motorists to use low-beam headlights during foggy conditions.
Authorities say the spring season is also a time when we encounter dense fog more often during morning commutes. They say they want all motorists to manually turn on their headlights when foggy conditions are present.
They tell us many vehicles are equipped with automatic headlights. But they say that unfortunately those automatic headlights are seldom activated in foggy conditions. This poses obvious safety concerns to other motorists.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says “Please take the time to practice getting into this very important habit to help make the roads safer for everyone.”
