The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Winter Storm Watch, which will be in effect from noon on Wednesday through Friday at 6:00 P.M.
The Winter Storm Watch states that blizzard conditions are possible, and total snow accumulations of four to eight inches are possible.
In addition to the additional snow, winds could gust as high as 45 mph. This, combined with the forecast dangerously cold temperatures over the same time period, has prompted a Wind Chill Watch to also be in effect from 6:00 A.M. on Wednesday morning until noon on Saturday, December 24th, as wind chills are predicted to be as low as 45 or more degrees below zero.
