WolfTornabane: “It’s Time for Change”

Storm Lake, Iowa — Storm Lake native Ashley WolfTornabane says she is on a mission to shake up Iowa’s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2026 with her recently launched grassroots campaign that she says “comes with a powerful message: It’s time for real change.”

The 35-year-old WolfTornabane is a current stay-at-home mom, former Director of Christian Education for Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake, and an Instructional Assistant for the Storm Lake Community School District. She says her motivation stems from years of advocacy work and frustration with corporate influence in politics. She credits grassroots momentum for inspiring her run.

She says her priorities include healthcare for all, clean water, stronger rural education, and better support for underrepresented communities—from family farms to those who identify as LGBTQ+ to individuals with disabilities. She tells us she aims to uplift Iowa’s underdogs.

WolfTornabane says her campaign refuses corporate PAC money and instead relies entirely on community support. She tells us she is crisscrossing the district, the largest in Iowa—which spans 36 counties in the western and north-central portions of the state—listening to constituents at county fairs, and she says she invites supporters to help fuel the effort—literally.

Other candidates for Iowa’s 4th Congressional District seat—currently held by Republican U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra of Hull, who is eyeing a gubernatorial bid next year—include Democrat Stephanie Steiner of Sutherland and Republicans Ryan Rhodes of Ames, Kyle Larsen of Humboldt, Chris McGowan of Sioux City, and Iowa Rep. Matt Windschitl of Missouri Valley.
